Practice Staff - Our Doctors

Rowe Avenue Surgery has 2 GP Partners - ,  Dr Neil Myers and  Dr Uthpala Ranawaka . The surgery is supported by Dr Byrne (salaried GP) and our Paramedic, Joe Hogan. Our practice team is pleased to be involved in teaching and training. We will regularly be having GP Registrars and Medical Students attending the practice who are experiencing general practice as part of their professional development. Sometimes the doctor may wish to video record their consultations. Your permission will always be requested beforehand. Please note that GP Registrars are qualified doctors.

You can read profiles of our Clinical Staff below:

Dr Neil Myers, Rowe Avenue SurgeryDr Neil Myers, GP Partner

MRCGP, DFSRH, DCH, MBChB, BMEDSci, Birmingham 2000

I qualified as a GP in 2007. I started work in Scotland where I worked until 2011 when my family relocated to the south coast. My first job in the area was in East Brighton before I moved to join the team at Rowe Avenue.

Being a GP is a great (although busy) job. I really enjoy the variety and am happy to see any kind of heath complaint however trivial it might seem. I have a diploma in child health and another in sexual health. Skin conditions are something of an interest.

I’m very happy to be working at Rowe Avenue. I think we have a great team.

Recently we’ve been asked to apply the ‘Friends and Family’ test in health care. The test involves asking yourself if you would recommend your place of work to your own friends or family. I know I am biased but, I have the pleasure of being able to say honestly that I would recommend Rowe Avenue to anyone and that’s not just because I work here.

Dr Myers has recently been appointed on the Board of the CCG and is the Lead for Planned care for the Lewes Havens CCG, helping to improve health care services in this area.  He will be staying at Rowe Avenue Surgery as a GP Partner and will continue to have clinics on Monday, Tuesday and  Friday.
